Chanel Ayan is a Kenyan-born Dubai-based model, actress, and television personality who is well known for being Dubai’s first black supermodel. She is also the first Black supermodel to be on the cover of Dubai magazine and appeared in a number of international editions of Vogue. In addition, she made headlines after she was shortlisted to join the new Bravo TV series called The Real Housewives of Dubai.
She is well known for her stylish and enviable style. She is a fashion and beauty expert and whether she is on or off the runway, she is a boss. Ayan is trying to juggle motherhood, running her successful talent agency, and a highly anticipated makeup and skincare launch.

When a cousin of Ayan who resided in Sweden visited her while she was in Kenya, she was the first person to introduce her to modeling. Her cousin told her to put into consideration becoming a model for according to her, Chanel did look like one. She offered her a fashion magazine to help her polish up her modeling skills. Her efforts earned her commercials in Kenya for Coca-cola and Bazaar.
At the age of 17, she relocated to Brazil and later to New York where she worked with Elite Models. While she was in New York, she did Michael Kors’s show, Moschino. Ayan is a main cast member of the first season of The Real Housewives of Dubai. In the show, she joins a dynamic group of women who struggle to navigate through their business empires, relationships, and supremely lavish and extremely wealthy lifestyles in the United Arab Emirates. During the reality show trailer, she stated that she is a badass bitch, and gave a history of her background on how she was from a very small village in Kenya and came to Dubai when she was 18 years old. She added that a guy approached and asked whether she was interested in being a model.
In addition, Ayan opened up to Dr. Sara Al Madani about her family while they bonded on the June 8 episode and stated how fond she is of Sara. During the June 8 episode, she disclosed that she was introduced to her husband by her sister and he requested to have a dance with him. Ayan has also stated that her husband always said that she was one of a kind. Furthermore, while she attended Lesa Milan’s Thanksgiving dinner, she brought a goat and explained that in her culture if one is invited they have to bring a very important gift.
