Her husband Dusty Hill who died on July 28, 2021, was an American musician, singer, and songwriter, who was best known as the bassist and secondary lead vocalist of the American rock group ZZ Top. He played bass guitar, sang backing and lead vocals, and played keyboards.

McCrory’s husband, Dusty Hill, died on July 28, 2021, in his sleep at his home in Houston, Texas, aged 72. His death was announced by his ZZ Top bandmates Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard in a statement where they wrote:

“We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature, and your enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that ‘Blues Shuffle in C.’”

“You will be missed greatly, amigo,” the statement added.
