He wanted to make broadcasting more than just a hobby. After ten years of practicing law, he enrolled at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, where he graduated. He then secured a job at WYUR-AM 1310, hosting a political-legal talk show from noon to one, Monday through Friday. Although the ratings were pretty good, the station eventually folded.
Following his time at WYUR-AM 1310, Langton joined WXYT-AM 1270, where he hosted a weekday talk show from 9 to 11 at night. It was at that time that he knew that a career in broadcasting was definitely in his blood. While he was on the radio, somebody at FOX 2 News heard him and thought he would make a good legal analyst. Eventually, he became a regular daily commentator during the Stephen Grant murder case in Macomb County. He delivered legal commentary when Kwame Kilpatrick’s dirty deeds became public. He owes his TV career to the former mayor of Detroit and has enjoyed some success in broadcasting.

Langton has won four Emmys and three Wade McCree Jr. Awards for excellence in legal journalism presented by the State Bar of Michigan. The Macomb County Bar Association has honored him for outstanding service. He has also spoke at various legal and charitable events, as well as moderate numerous political debates.
