A native New Englander, Lopresti grew up enjoying the area’s exciting and sometimes wild weather. Since he was young, Lopresti knew his love for big storms and weather extremes would someday lead him to a career in meteorology. Lopresti attended Plymouth State University in New Hampshire where he received his meteorology degree.

After graduation, he went to work high atop New England’s tallest peak, at the Mount Washington Observatory. As Staff Meteorologist, Lopresti had the unique opportunity to observe, forecast, and conduct important research in “The World’s Worst Weather.”

Throughout his career, Lopresti has been awarded the American Meteorological Society’s seal of approval for quality television weather broadcasts. Additionally, he has been designated Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the AMS.

Charlie’s forecast was awarded Best Weathercast five times by the Maine Association of Broadcasters. Additionally, his Weathercast also won first place from the Maine Associated Press Broadcasters Association. When he is not working, Lopresti enjoys every nice day outdoors.
