Following his time in Rockford, Frye worked in Alabama, Kansas, and Fayetteville, Arkansas. While in Fayetteville, he transitioned from sports to news in October 2014 as a morning anchor. He joined WOIO after working as a sportscaster and news anchor for 15 years.
