Chris Yu is an American journalist working for News 9 as a multimedia journalist. He joined the station in September 2022. Previously, he served WWMT in Kalamazoo, Michigan as a reporter and multimedia journalist.

During his time in New Bern, he raised ranks and eventually worked as a website manager. Next, he moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he worked as an executive producer. Later, he changed career paths and started working in the air. He reported in Rochester, Minnesota, Paducah, Kentucky, and Kalamazoo, Michigan, before joining News 9 in Oklahoma City.

During his career, Yu’s Labrador retriever has always accompanied him. Also, he has a cat named Snowflake. During his free time away from TV and cleaning Snowflake’s mess he loves trying new types of foods, movies, and photography. On a side note, he’s a huge fan of basketball and football.

Yu initially wanted to pursue journalism because he loved creative writing and photography. However, he now works in the journalism business because it impacts the community. He enjoys telling stories that help the needy and safeguard the public as well as animal stories particularly those of dogs.
