Chris Zelman Biography
Chris Zelman is an Americna meteorologist working for WALB as a morning and noon meteorologist since joining the station in April 2007. Previously, he worked for WPTV NewsChannel 5 in West Palm Beach, Florida as a fill-in meteorologist.

Zelman joined the University of Florida in 1989 when he finished high school at North Miami Beach Senior High. In 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Geography. In 1994, he joined Florida State University where he received his Bachelor Of Science degree in Meteorology.

Zelman works for WALB as a morning and noon meteorologist. Since joining the station, he has broadcasted snow and severe storms. In 2001, he earned his Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. He works as a member of the AMS and the National Weather Association (NWA).
During his career, he has broadcasted six hurricanes including Danny, Georges, Earl, Katrina, Wilma, and Irma, winter storms, a dust storm in the Central Valley of California, and two deadly tornado outbreaks including Valentine’s Day 2000 & other January 22, 2017. He started his TV career when he worked at WJHG in Panama City before heading to Tallahassee
Zelman worked in California for a few years before coming to Memphis. Recently, he freelanced at the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, Florida, WPTV. He has also worked as a volunteer for the SPCA, the American Red Cross, and the Salvation Army.
