The Onondaga County Executive named December 29, 2012, as Christie Casciano Day. She won an Emmy nomination for her investigative stories surrounding the heroin epidemic. For the series, she also won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award.
A proud hockey mom, she has authored two hockey-themed children’s books: Haunted Hockey in Lake Placid and The Puck Hog. Positive Coaching Alliance recognized the book as delightful while teaching significant lessons about teamwork.
Casciano’s most recent book, My Kids Play Hockey, has been sold all over the nation. Every month, Casciano does a hockey mom column in USA Hockey Magazine. She teamed up with NewsChannel 9’s Lou Gulino and Tim Fox to write “Syracuse Television History.”
