Christine Sperow Biography

Christine Sperow is an American News anchor/reporter working for Fox 5 News since joining the station in March 2020. Sperow anchors the newly launched FOX 5 News at 4:30p and also co-anchors FOX 5 News Edge at 11 alongside anchor Tom Haynes.

Sperow attended the University of Georgia where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Mass Communication and the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism. She was as well a student-athlete playing on UGA’s women’s volleyball team. After graduation, she lived in Atlanta for a few years before hopping around the country to begin her journalism career. She is very excited to be back in Atlanta where her parents and siblings now also reside.

She anchored coverage of many breaking news events in Charlotte, from devastating hurricanes and winter storms to news events that made national headlines like the Charleston church shooting, the funeral of Reverend Billy Graham, and even the city’s sendoff when the Carolina Panthers went to the Super Bowl 50.

Sperow has interviewed the likes of former First Lady Laura Bush, President Donald Trump, and then-Senator Barack Obama during his first presidential campaign. She takes pride in keeping the public informed with accurate information about what’s happening in their community. Being rooted in the community she lives in is also important. While in Charlotte, Sperow led the station’s campaign for seven years raising millions of dollars for children fighting pediatric cancer at the hospital of St. Jude Children’s Research. Before WBTV, she was an anchor/reporter at KLTV in Texas and WABG in Mississippi. Sperow is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
