Christyn Allen is an American journalist working for WVLT as an anchor and traffic reporter since joining the station in October 2022. Previously, she worked for Lilly Broadcasting in Erie, Pennsylvania as a multimedia journalist.

Allen joined Middle Tennessee State University in 2017 when she finished her high school education at Oneida High School in 2017. In 2020, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Multimedia Journalism. During her time in college, she served the campus TV station Middle Tennessee News as an anchor and reporter. Also, she held internships at WATE in Knoxville and WKRN in Nashville.

Allen works for WVLT as an anchor and traffic reporter. After graduating college, she started her reporting career in Erie, Pennsylvania in December 2020. While in Erie, she mostly covered breaking news, the COVID-19 pandemic, and snowstorms. Ultimately, she served the station as an anchor of the weekday newscasts at 10 p.m.

When Tennessee came calling, she jumped at the chance to cover stories in her backyard and home. Her passion for storytelling was cemented when she witnessed how journalists told the stories of the ruin of 2020’s Super Tuesday tornadoes in Nashville. She loves reporting because she makes a difference in people’s lives and gets to know people in the region.
