Claire Kopsky is an American journalist working for WBTV as a reporter since joining the station in June 2023. Previously, she worked for NewsChannel 5 Network in Nashville, Tennessee as a multimedia journalist for 2 years.

Kopsky joined the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2014 when she finished her high school education at Westminster Christian Academy. In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Convergence Journalism concentrating on TV reporting and a Business minor.

During this time, she broadcasted the gamut, breaking state and city political news, snow and tornado ruin, unforgettable flooding, a governor’s impeachment, three Kentucky Derbys, and multi-part investigations that revealed corrupt local education leaders. Also, she did social injustice stories, stories of people living with special needs, and features that created a difference.
During her time at WTVF in Nashville, her reports concentrated on special projects and feature stories. In 2022, she won the Arc Tennessee Public Awareness Award for her broadcast of the disability community, especially for her story that aided in altering a law to expand the number of adult-size changing tables in the state. She also received two Emmy nominations for her broadcast. First, for her broadcasting the unhoused community in downtown Nashville and the second one, for her helicopter report during the aftermath of The Covenant School shooting.
While reporting and anchoring for WLEX in Lexington, she won an Emmy for her report at the Kentucky Derby. Her career started when she worked at the NBC affiliate KOMU in Columbia, Missouri as a multimedia journalist and anchor. Her work has earned features on the Associated Press, CBS Mornings, US News, CBS Evening News, CBS News, CBS Weekend Roundup, Inside Edition, Good Morning America, CNN, MSNBC, and World Report.
Aside from TV, she has worked in digital, print, broadcast and multimedia newsrooms. She has worked as a reporter in Beijing, China, at the China Open Tennis Tournament. She worked for a print and digital magazine in London, United Kingdom, and worked for a digital startup in New York City. During her free time, she serves as a volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)/Guardian at Litem (GAL) which helps abused and/or neglected children in the courtroom against their abusers.
