Damon Singleton Biography
Damon Singleton is an American Meteorologist working at WDS-TV serving as a meteorologist. Previously, he worked as a Commander at the US Navy working there from 1984 – 2006.

Singleton attended St. Augustine High School where he finished and then joined St. Thomas University where he attained a degree in Meteorology. He also furthered his studies at the United States Naval War College in Newport, where he earned a master’s degree.

Singleton works as a meteorologist at WDSU-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. While in New Orleans, he has covered major weather events such as floods, hurricanes, ice storms, and tornadoes. Throughout his career as a weatherman, Damon has covered a wide range of information across the Indian Oceans and Pacific Oceans. There, he helps to determine the most effective way to utilize sonar systems to detect submarines and avoid tropical cyclones.
Before working as a journalist, Singleton served as a Commander at the US Navy where he worked from 1984 – 2006. During his time at the US Navy, he worked in different positions such as Deputy Director of the Policy, Executive Officer, and Fleet Support Officer for the Navy Center for Tactical Systems Interoperability. Previously, Damon worked for the United States Naval Academy where he served as a Deputy Director of Character Education. In addition to this, he also worked with the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Peter Pace.
He started his career at the age of 22-year when he joined the U.S. Navy serving as a surface warfare officer. Over the years, he has traveled all over the world as a member of various boards such as Electrical Officer on the USS MERRILL and Executive Officer of USS LASALLE. On top of this, Singleton has also taken part in different operations such as enforcing the no-fly zone over Southern Iraq and escort operations of reflagged Kuwaiti Tankers in EARNEST WILL.
