During George W. Bush’s second term, Bongino was assigned to the Presidential Protection Division after joining the Secret Service in 1999. After Barack Obama was elected president, he remained on protective duty until May 2011, when he left to run for the United States Senate. Life Inside the Bubble, Bongino’s first book about his career as a Secret Service agent, was released in 2013. The Fight, his second book, was published in January 2016.

He discusses his experiences protecting Presidents Bush and Obama, as well as investigating federal crimes, in it.
