Dan Hagen Biography
Dan Hagen is an American journalist working for WJFW as an evening news anchor and an assistant news director since March 2022. Before, he served the station as a variety show host and producer. He joined the station in February 2019 as a news reporter and multimedia journalist.
Dan Hagen Education
Hagen attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 2013 after completing his high school education. When he finished his studies in 2017, he became a graduate and attained Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. During his sophomore year, he began a radio show at the college station.
Further, he interned at KYMN 95.1 in Northfield, Minnesota during his senior year. While in Minnesota, he read adn wrote news stories. Also, he served on the ski team in college and has done five Kortes and five Birkies to date.

After graduating college, he started working for a huge healthcare company in the Twin Cities metro area as an analyst. Even though he loved his paycheck and coworker, he left the job a year and a half later in pursuit of a journalism career.
He worked for the Forest Service and cross-country skiing. Throughout his college terms, he worked in the Kootenai National Forest during summers. Most of his weekends are spent backpacking and camping, particularly in the Boundary Waters.

Often, he is at the Minocqua Winter Park or WinMan Trails working on his V2 technique. Passionate about music, he plays the guitar, piano, and ukulele as well as loves listening to the Beatles. He began writing music several years ago. In February 2019, he released his initial solo album “Stranded.”
He is a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2016. On a side note, Hagen is a congenital anosmic thus he has never had a sense of smell. Further, he serves as a member of a mathematics national honor society Pi Mu Epsilon.
