Daniel Philips is an American Emmy Award-Winning Meteorologist working for KATC-TV as a both morning meteorologist and environmental reporter. Previously, he worked as a morning and noon meteorologist at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Upon graduating from high school, Phillips joined Florida State University in 200 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2011.

Phillips works for KATC-TV in Lafayette, Louisiana where he serves as a morning meteorologist and environmental reporter. He joined the station in January 2013 working as a weekend meteorologist a role he served from January 2013 to December 2016. Later on, Daniel landed a role as a morning meteorologist in January 2017 where he has been working for more than seven years. While there, he delivers weekly news and serves as an environmental sciences and science communicator.
Before Joining KATC-TV, Philips worked for KREX-TV as a morning and noon meteorologist from May 2011 to January 2013. He also filled in as a co-anchor for both shows and assembled weather graphics for the noon and morning shows.
Daniel began his journalism career working as a Freelance Meteorologist at WTXL ABC27. He served the station for eight months from October 2010 to May 2011. Philips is thrilled to be back in the southeast where he is looking forward to bringing Acadiana the best weather forecast. For his environmental weather and reporting work, he was honored with several awards including the AP Award and the Emmy Award.
