Danielle Panabaker is an American actress who gained fame for appearing in the Disney films Stuck in the Suburbs, Sky High, and Read It and Weep, as well as HBO’s Empire Falls. She started her acting career as a teen and appeared in commercials.

Panabaker studied at Crone Middle School and Neuqua Valley High School after she moved to  Naperville, Illinois, in 2000. While in high school, she participated in the speech team. At the age of 14, she graduated high school and joined Glendale Community College, where she studied acting.

Panabaker along with her sister and mother moved to Los Angeles, California so that she could pursue an acting career. She started her acting career as a teen and appeared in commercials. At the time, she appeared in films like Malcolm in the Middle, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Medium, Summerland, and Disney’s Stuck in the Suburbs. For her performance in The Guardian, she attained a Young Artist Award. Next, she appeared in Lifetime’s Sex and the Single Mom, Mom at Sixteen, and Empire Falls. She considers her role in Empire Falls as her breakthrough film since it gave her the confidence to pursue her career.

Aside from TV, Panabaker has appeared in stage productions where she had roles in musical theatre such as West Side Story, Pippin, Once Upon a Time, and Beauty Lou and the Country Beast. In 2004, she appeared in ABC’s Searching for David’s Heart. For her performance in the film, she attained another Young Artist Award. The following year, she appeared in Sky High and Yours, Mine & Ours. For her ensemble performance in Yours, Mine & Ours, she received her third Young Artist Award.

From 2006 to 2008, Panabaker starred in CBS’ Shark in the role of the lead character’s daughter, Julie Stark. In 2008, she made an appearance in Home of the Giants. She played a supporting role in  Mr. Brooks and appeared in Disney’s Read It and Weep as Is who’s an alternate version of Jamie.

In 2009, Panabaker played the role of Jenna in the remake of Friday the 13th. Next, she starred in The Crazies, The Ward, Piranha 3DD, and The Shunning. She is named a scream queen for her roles in the films. Panabaker was to recur her role as Katie Lapp in The Shunning‘s sequel, The Confession, but she dropped out of the show due to a scheduling conflict. In 2013, she appeared in Hallmark’s Nearlyweds in the role of Erin. The same year, she performed at Cedering Fox’s WordTheatre, where she along with  Philip Baker Hall, Bill Pullman, and Maggie Siff read aloud contemporary short fiction.

In April of the same year, she guest starred as Caitlin Snow in Sn 2 of CW’s Arrow. Later, she started playing Snow in the spin-off series, The Flash. She debuted as a director when she directed the series 18th episode of SN 5 dubbed “Godspeed.”

Aside from acting, Panabaker serves as a volunteer for several organizations including the Art of Elysium, Unicef, and the Young Storytellers Foundation. She toured five U.S. military bases in Kuwait with the United Service Organizations (USO) in May and June 2019 as part of DC’s 80th anniversary of Batman celebration.
