Darby Sparks is an American reporter working for KUTV 2News serving as an investigative reporter. She joined the station in August 2022, after working at KWQC news as a weekend morning and investigative reporter.

Upon completing high school, Darby went on to join Boise State University in 2014 where she graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Journalism.

Sparks serves as an investigative reporter at KUTV 2News, the CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to joining KUTV in August 2022, she spent nearly two years working for KWQC news as a weekend morning and investigative reporter. While there in Davenport, Iowa, she covered everything from criminal cases to government wastage to local impacts.

Earlier, Darby served as a reporter at WTAJ in Altoona, Pennsylvania where she served as a general assignment reporter. She worked for the station for one year and seven months from April 2019 to October 2020. Before working for WTAJ-TV, Sparks worked for the Profile Communications Group as a multimedia content producer. She also wrote content for social media platforms and businesses from November 2018 to April 2019.

Darby previously served as a director at KXLY News Radio 920 in Spokane, Washington. As a director, Sparks was in charge of managing social media platforms and delivering morning newscasts. She spends eight months working for the station from March 2018 to October 2018. Sparks started her journalism career at KHQ-TV in Spokane where she served as an intern from January 2018 to March 2018. Besides this, Darby also gives back to the community where she volunteers in different organizations such as Homes for Hope.
