Dave Malkoff is an American Emmy Award-Winning journalist working for The Weather Channel serving as a Chief Environmental Correspondent. He has been working for the station for quite some time now.

Malkoff attended Liberty High School a public high school in Liberty Township, just north of Youngstown, Ohio. After his high school studies, he attained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Ohio State University.

Malkoff reports live from natural disasters and host the network’s “Weather Channel Explores” documentary series. He had also worked for other stations prior to joining The Weather Channel. For instance, he previously worked for KTLA-TV Los Angeles where he served as a science and technology reporter. He also spent some time working as a reporter at KCAL-TV, and KCBS-TV, both CBS flagship stations in Los Angeles. While still in LA, he managed to enclose weather events that hit the headlines including earthquakes, the private space industry, and wildfires. It was during his time in LA that he won an Emmy Award for his extensive reporting from Iraq during the final days of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Malkoff also worked for WFOR-TV in Miami where he served as a science and technology reporter before moving to LA. While in Miami, he enclosed 11 tropical storms and hurricanes, including Hurricane Katrina. His career started at WICD-TV in Champaign, IL, and has also been a reporter in Las Vegas and San Francisco. He started working in television during his high school years at WYTV-TV & WKBN-TV in Youngstown, OH. Throughout his college years, Dave worked as an associate producer at WBNS-TV in Columbus, OH.
