Dave Williams Biography
Dave Williams is an American meteorologist working for ABC4 as the chief meteorologist. Before joining ABC News 4, Williams worked just up the road at WBTW in Myrtle Beach.

Williams works for ABC4 as the chief meteorologist. His forecasts air on weekday evenings at 5, 6, 7, and 11 p.m. He has led the station’s First Warning Weather team through coverage of multiple big weather events, including Hurricane Irma in 2017, Hurricane Matthew in 2016, and the 2015 record-breaking rainfall and flooding. In 2018, he led the team during a snowstorm and Hurricanes Florence and Michael.
Williams encountered dangerous storms while growing up in Northeast Ohio, where he witnessed tornadoes and blizzards. These weather events ignited his passion for meteorology during his childhood. While vacationing with his family in South Carolina, he had a firsthand experience of the wrath of Mother Nature. He still vividly recalls the devastation caused by an F-4 Tornado in Bennettsville, South Carolina, and the aftermath of Hurricane David in Myrtle Beach.
Before joining ABC News 4, Williams worked just up the road at WBTW in Myrtle Beach. After graduating from college, he worked as a meteorologist at WTOV of Steubenville, Ohio, and Wheeling, West Virginia. He has vast experience forecasting the weather in the Palmetto State.
Besides his work on TV, Williams is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association, which granted him its Seal of Approval. Moreover, he is a volunteer with Rud Buddies, a program that helps overweight kids and young adults lose weight and live healthier lifestyles. His buddy lost more than 30 pounds and finished multiple 5k and 10k races, including, the Cooper River Bridge Run.
