David Hartman is an American Emmy award-winning Meteorologist working at WAPT-TV in Jackson, Mississippi as a Chief Meteorologist. He joined the station in 1986 after working for WOLO-TV in Columbia, South Carolina.

Hartman finished his studies at Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology in 1983. He becomes well-known for his interest in talking in classes, especially at schools in the viewing area and he addresses classes of about 40 schools each year. Hartman has also helped Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups get their weather patches and badges and educates groups in Mississippi about weather preparedness while addressing civic groups. He has been a weather person for many years and an official meteorologist for the AA baseball team of Mississippi and he is often the meteorologist of the year for festivals, golf tournaments, and many other community events.

This broadcast radar is the strongest and most accurate in the whole state with the ability to give viewers significant time to prepare in case of a severe weather event.
