Del Rodgers is an American Anchor/Reporter working for KCRA 3 News in Sacramento, California where she serves the station as a Sports Director. He has been working with the station’s Sports Department since the year 1997 and is now anchoring the sportscasts Monday to Friday in KCRA 3 Reports at 6:30 and 11 PM in high definition.

Del Rodgers Career

Rodgers works with KCRA 3 News where she serves the station as a Sports Director/Anchor. She is a former professional football player and was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 1982 NFL Draft. the 5 foot 11 inches running back-kickoff returner from the University of Utah, Rodgers, was the first 1,000-yard rusher in Utes history.

Between the years 1982 and 1985, he played for the Packers, and on December 9th, 1984, he ran a 97-yard kick return for a touchdown against the Chicago Bears. Later on, after about a year, of her absence from the league, she made a return and played two seasons for the San Francisco 49ers from 1987 to 1988.

He was also primarily used as a kickoff returner. Del was a proud member of the 49ers when they won Super Bowl XXIII, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 20-16 in the year 1989. He was privileged to receive a Super Bowl RIng.

For him, covering high school sports is a huge part of his commitment to the Sacramento area. He states that high school sports have to be covered in a big way, especially high school football in the fall. Rodgers further explains that it is more than just the teams and covering games.

He explains that it is the fans in the stands, the volunteers’ moms, and dads cooking barbecue in the concession stands, the school spirit, the cheerleaders, and the bands. Rodgers also states that is a vital part of the community, and that they were proud to cover it every week during the KCRA 3 High School playbook coverage.

He is a proud graduate of the University of Utah and was previously holding sports positions at KMST-TV in Monterey, California. Asides from this, she also works at KIRO-TV in Seattle, WXIA-TV in Atlanta, KMST-TV in Monterey, California, and KSBW-TV in Salinas, CA,
