Dianne Derby is an American journalist working for KOAA as an anchor and reporter since joining the station in 2021. Previously, she worked in Colorado Springs for more than 8 years.

Derby joined the University of Florida in 1996 when she finished her high school education. In 2000, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Psychology. She then Florida State University where she received a Master’s degree. Also, she received a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Miami.

Derby works for KOAA as an anchor and reporter. During her first year at the station, she and Rob Quirk won the “Best Anchor Team” award from the Colorado Broadcasters Association. During her career, she has broadcasted notable stories like the Club Q mass shootings, law enforcement funerals, the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest Fires, and the Planned Parenthood shootings. Also, she has interviewed families of lost or killed children and fought for consumers hopeless for a voice with businesses that wouldn’t listen.
Derby started her career when she worked in Savannah, Georgia as a general assignment reporter. Next, she relocated to Spartanburg, South Carolina where she worked as an anchor and consumer reporter. Then, she worked in Colorado Springs for over 8 years.

In the spring of 2022, she released her memoir titled Two Hundred Tuesdays: What a Pearl Harbor Survivor Taught Me About Life, Love, and Faith.” The book was among the finalists for the Christian Book of the Year Award.
