Dillon Ancheta is an American journalist working for HNN as an anchor and producer of “This Is Now” since joining the station in December 2016. He first joined the station as an intern before HNN hired him as a full-time employee. Also, he works as a drag queen under the name Mallibu Del Rey.

Ancheta joined the University of Hawaii at Manoa when he finished his high school education at Kauai High School. Later, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Journalism. As a senior in college, he worked as an intern for Hawai‘i News Now. While attending Wilcox Elementary School, he worked as a P.A. announcer in the 5th grade. In this capacity, he updated the campus with morning and afternoon announcements. Also, he worked as an MC for school assemblies and occasions.

He says watching a reel of Gennaula’s farewell inspired him to pursue a career that could be looked back at and see milestone moments and highlights.
