Don Diamont Ethnicity

Don Diamont began using his mother’s maiden name when he began acting and modeling after an agent suggested that it was more “rhythmical,” but in fact, because it was less obviously Jewish-sounding. In the August 15, 2006 edition of Soap Opera Digest, he discusses his Jewish background and discloses that he fully embraces his Jewish heritage until later in life.

Coincidentally, his storyline on The Young and the Restless (head written by Lynn Marie Latham & Scott Hamner) has paralleled his personal life in some ways. The show has revealed that the persona of “Brad Carlton” is actually “George Kaplan.” (For dramatic purposes, the show has explained this by disclosing that George/Brad had to hide his past, and his Jewishness, for his own safety.)

Off-screen, Don Diamont is dealing with a health issue of a different kind as he prepares to compete in Dancing With the Stars in Italy!

Don Diamont is apparently dealing with a hip injury at the end of rehearsal this week. At first, there was a concern that he’d suffered a fracture or experienced a soft tissue injury. But, after being checked out, he’s still good to go for his first dance on Saturday, March 10.

Don Diamont shared his news via an Instagram video in which he reveals that he experienced a hip injury during a rehearsal that prompted him to seek medical care. He “Had a hip injury today at the end of rehearsal and was concerned that there might have been a fracture or maybe a soft tissue injury,” he says. Fortunately, after a little expert care, he was cleared to continue on the dance series with his partner Kanna Karttunen. But that doesn’t mean the hip injury experience hasn’t been painful! “I had an MRI, all good. [They] stuck a nice big needle in my ass just now, an anti-inflammatory,” he shares, adding that at least one more uncomfortable encounter with a needle was still to come.

Believe it or not, that’s not the only pain Diamont has gone through to star in Ballando Con Le Stelle. He shared a video of himself getting a series of back injections for the show, warning: “If you’re squeamish around needles, you might not want to click play on this one!”
