Donovan Eckhardt is an American businessman, constructor, property designer, contractor, and reality television star. He is well known for being on HGTV’S reality television show Windy City Rehab and Windy City Flip. In addition, he is the founder and owner of Greymark Development Group, LLC.

Eckhardt joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998, and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He also did receive the Edward C. Earl Prize in Versailles Study Abroad Program.

Donovan and interior designer Alison Victoria joined forces in 2019 and co-stared on HGTV’s Windy City Rehab show. The duo teamed up to the run-down resident houses and renovate them into luxury homes, they later sold the houses to potential buyers. In addition, Alison only focused on the designs while Donovan took care of all the financial dealing. In addition, their most famous renovation was of a 4,000-square-foot luxury home in Lincoln Square. Eckhardt only appeared in the first season and in the early parts of the second season of Windy City Rehab.

Donovan and interior designer Alison were business partners who worked together on the HGTV series called Windy City Rehab. However, their business partnership came to an end during the second season of Windy City Rehab in 2019.

While Donovan and Alison co-starred on HGTV’s Windy City Rehab show, renovation began to fall apart within months and the homeowners sued both of them. James and Anna Morrissey who are a couple sued Alison and Donovan along with Alison Victoria Interiors Inc, Eckhardt’s Greymark Development Group, and two other related businesses. The couple alleged defective and slapdash work, consumer fraud, breach of contract, and breach of warranty.
The lawsuit demanded the reversal of the sale, plus $80,000 and the couple added that they had paid for landscaping and upgrades. Another couple also sued them in April 2020, the lawsuit majored on the garage behind the property the couple needed renovation on.
As a result of the many lawsuits filed as a result of Donovan’s embezzling, and wrongfully derived money, he was fired in the spring of 2019. Later in January 2021, Donovan filed a defamation and emotional distress suit against Windy City Rehab production company and HGTV’s parent company.
Donovan filed a lawsuit against Big Table Media and Discovery for $2.2 million. He stated that the Windy City Rehab show made it look like he misappropriated, embezzled, or wrongfully derived money from past projects while it portrayed Alison as the innocent victim.

After having left HGTV’s Windy City Rehab show, Donovan has been working in the companies he founded such as; Greymark development group, BE custom millwork, VizCorp, and Eckhardt properties.
