Doug Petcash is an American journalist working for WBNS as a political reporter and anchor since joining the station on September 5, 2023.

Petcash joined Penn State University after finishing his high school education. In 1990, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.

Petcash works for WBNS as a political reporter and anchor. In this role, he anchors Face the State, the Sunday morning public affairs show. His position brings the Pittsburgh native back closer to home. He looks forward to working with the talented journalists at WBNS-10TV, who are passionate about their community. Previously, he worked for 10TV’s sister station in Boise, Idaho, as the afternoon and evening anchor. Also, he hosted Viewpoint, the public affairs show.

During his career, Petcash has won eight regional news Emmys and two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. He launched his career in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where he worked as the State College bureau for the NBC affiliate. Next, he pursued his passion for TV journalism in Pocatello, Idaho, and Cadillac, Michigan. He then returned to Idaho in Boise and is now in Columbus.

Some of Petcash’s most unforgettable stories were flying with the Navy Blue Angels and sharing stories of the hardworking people on a Great Lakes cement freighter for 3 days. While in Boise, he worked as a volunteer for the Meridian Food Bank for 12 years. He also served on the organization’s board of directors. He hopes to continue that same type of community involvement here in Ohio’s capital city.
