Drew Schultz is well-known as a music fan first. He grows up in a musical family, he was exposed early and often to the sounds of Motown, Classic Soul Funk.

Schultz attended the public school system in shaker heights and he was enveloped in massive music programs. He also studied with paul simons drummer-percussionist and Jamie Haddad. Schultz also went to college where he attended a five-session at the Berklee of Music where he studied with prince and Justin Timberlake drummer John Blackwell and multiple ensembles. He was accepted into the jazz performance program at a New York University Where he studied and played with artists.

Schultz worked as a moderator for the official Earth Wind and fire Website forums. He had flown to Los Angeles to work with EWF Founder, Singer, songwriter, and Drummer Maurice white to assist with a web project. He attended NYU, He founded his own 12-member funk monstrosity, which would go on to become the official  NYU. Drew Machine held a multi-year residency at the legendary bitter End Night Club.

He is also teaching and recording studio and teaching college courses at the Detroit Institute of Music Education a music college program in the heart of moto city that offers a Bachelor’s Degree in performance for Guitar and Drums. Schultz is also a songwriting and a music industry Studies program in industry studies. He alternated between touring with the tops, Performing with other acts, and studying at Nyu. Schultz interned under Harry Wiegner at  Motown Leading to pre-production Engineer credits on projects by Michael Jackson.
