His passion for weather started when he was 7 as he watched a waterspout form during an evening of little league baseball. Instead of doing what his kids do, he would track tropical storms and hurricanes. After graduating college, he went on to work for KTKA Topeka.

During his time there, he led KTKA’s storm-chasing operations where he organized and navigated multiple chase teams in Northeast Kansas. Next, he worked for WJBF in Augusta. While in Augusta, he broadcasted the unforgettable 2014 Georgia/South Carolina Ice Storm and the memorable rains from Hurricane Joaquin in 2015.

During his previous stint in Tampa, he aided in the coverage of multiple weather events counting Hurricane Matthew in 2016, Hurricane Irma in 2017, and Hurricane Michael in 2018. Bloodsworth serves the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association as an active member.

He holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorology Society. In his free time, he explores local museums, hikes nature trails, and the best eateries around. An ardent bowler, he coaches youth bowlers in the region and rolls in local tournaments.
