Elaine Quijano is an American anchor and reporter working as an anchor for CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 digital streaming service, and a correspondent for CBS News contributing to all CBS News broadcasts and platforms. She has been working for CBS since January 2010.
Elaine Quijano Career
Quijano started her journalism career as an intern in 1994 at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois. After several months, she started serving as a producer, anchor as well as a reporter. She then left the station in 1998 and joined hands with WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida, USA where she served as a general assignment reporter. She left the station in 2000 and joined CNN in December of that year and started off by serving as a correspondent.
During her tenure at CNN, she enclosed the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. In 2003, he went to Kuwait City shortly before the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Quijano also enclosed the Beltway sniper attacks and the 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.
In 2004, she joined CNN/US serving as a Washington, D.C.-based general assignment correspondent. In this role, she enclosed the Supreme Court, the Pentagon, and the 2004 re-election campaign of President George W. Bush. In this role, she also enclosed the main events and stories of the George W. Bush administration, including the 2008 financial crisis. Additionally, she also enclosed the unsuccessful bid for comprehensive immigration reform and the War on Terror. On December 23, 2009, she left the station and moved on to work at CBS.
