Wilson joined Georgia Southern University when she finished her high school education. She later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Minors in Geography & GIS. Wilson worked for KFSM Channel 5 in Fort Smith, Arkansas as a weekend morning and evening meteorologist. While in Fort Smith, she broadcasted tornado and blizzard warnings all on the same day. Before that, she served The Weather Channel as a radio broadcast meteorologist. In 2006, she worked for WRBL in Columbus, Georgia as a meteorologist. She holds the AMS Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
