Elizabeth Wadas is an American journalist working for WMTV as the lead reporter for 15 Investigates and anchor of the 5 p.m. newscast on weekdays. Previously, she served WREX as a multimedia journalist.

Wadas joined Indiana University’s School of Journalism in 2011 when she finished her high school education at Munster High School. In 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Reporting. While in college, she served Big Ten Student U as a student reporter and held an internship at WREX.

Wadas works for WMTV as the lead reporter for 15 Investigates and anchor of the 5 p.m. newscast on weekdays. Briefly, after she began her journalism career in Rockford, Illinois, she secured her initial reporting job at WREX.
After working at WREX, she relocated to the Quad Cities where she served WQAD in Moline, Illinois as an anchor and reporter. There, she worked on special projects in Moline. During, the 2016 and 2020 Iowa caucuses she worked as a lead reporter broadcasting Hilary Clinton’s campaign and even secured a one-on-one interview with the then-Democratic presidential candidate. She also covered Joe Biden’s campaign in 2020.
Her work broadcasting politics, breaking news, and ‘Red Neck fishing tournament’ earned her successive titles of ‘Best Reporter’ through the Illinois News Broadcasters Association. Giving a voice to the voiceless drives her to go to work early. She has a passion for holding officials responsible, getting solutions for the community, and solving problems.
