Emily Owen Biography

Emily Owen is an American meteorologist working for WZDX FOX54 as a weekend meteorologist. She joined the station in May 2019. Previously, she worked for WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa as a meteorologist.

Owen attended Mississippi State University in 2015 after completing her high school education. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Geosciences focusing on Professional Meteorology and emphasizing Broadcasting.

Hailing from Oneonta, Alabama, she has encountered several tornadoes passing through her hometown. Thus, she developed an interest in weather, particularly acute weather.

On April 27, 2011, she personally experienced a tornado outbreak and she realized her love for weather, hence she decided to pursue meteorology. Apart from safeguarding the community, she also wanted to learn the science behind the weather. She is thrilled to stay in her hometown and forecasts for her friends and family as well as protect the Valley.
