Eric Chaloux Biography

Eric Chaloux is an American journalist working for KSTP Eyewitness News as a news reporter. He joined the station in March 2015. Previously, he served KCTV / KSMO as an investigative reporter for 8 years.

Chaloux attended the University of Missouri after completing his high school education. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Further, he holds a Juris Doctorate from Taft Law School.

Chaloux works for KSTP Eyewitness News as a news reporter. He joined the station in March 2015. Previously, he served KCTV / KSMO as an investigative reporter for 8 years. Initially, he joined KCTV5 News in December 2002 as a general assignment reporter for three years. He later left the station and rejoined the station in March 2007 as an investigative reporter. Further, he has reported at stations in Kansas City, at KSPR in Springfield, and KOMU in Columbia.

Chaloux’s investigations caught the awareness of lawmakers in St. Paul to file a ruling to guard Minnesota families. This was after he discovered that the state didn’t demand schools to sample drinking water for lead. Further, he shed light on legal, crime, and political stories for almost a decade in Kansas City.

Chaloux received an Edward R. Murrow Award for his investigative series that chronicled millions of dollars in due bills and strange collection procedures of a local public utility. Laws were made in Missouri and Kansas to correct the flaws in the state sales tax collection programs that his two undercover news investigations exposed. The stories received the Missouri Broadcaster’s Association award for best news series of 2011. The Missouri Senate honored him for aiding in the exposure of the 2013 welfare scam. He has also received an Emmy award for his investigative work.

Before working in TV, Chaloux worked as a sports announcer and play-by-play broadcasting high school and college teams around New England. Also, he served as a host of a weekly music radio program that aired in New England and parts of Canada.
