Shortly after graduating from college, he began working alongside longtime weathercaster Chuck Rhodes, who had inspired him at an early age. He worked with Chuck for the first 5 years of his career.
Over the course of his career, Finkenbinder has received a couple of awards. The Mid Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences granted him an Emmy Best Weather Anchor Award in 2022. Prior to that, he received four Emmy Awards in that same category.
Finkenbinder has also been honored for Best Weathercasts from the Pennsylvania Associated Press and Simply the Best Weather Personality and Reader’s Choice awards by Harrisburg Magazine. He also works as a member and seal holder of the National Weather Association.
