Eric Stone Biography
Eric Stone is an American Meteorologist working for WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida as a Meteorologist. He joined the WFLA Storm Team in October 2021 after working for Fox 4 News.

Stone pursued his first degree at Plymouth State University in Plymouth New Hampshire where he obtained two bachelor’s degrees. He was trained in meteorological analysis alongside applied mathematics. After that Stone earned his higher education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he was able to complete his Master’s degree majoring in Meteorology. During his years at Plymouth State University, Stone took several classes discussing media communications and journalism. Additionally, at the University of Utah, Stone changed his major to atmospheric sciences.

Stone joined the WFLA weather team in October 2021. Before WFLA, Stone established himself in sunny southwest Florida as the weekend weatherman at Fox 4 and WINK-TV both located in Fort Myers. His dedication to producing correct weather forecasts earned him the title of the best local TV meteorologist in the United States of America in 2022 by Broadcasting + Cable.
Additionally, Stone was a part of the KSTU Fox 13 television for a year in 2001, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was then promoted to air meteorologist at the same station. In May 2009, Stone earned the AMS seal of approval while working at KSTU in Salt Lake City. In April 2014, he also earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. Stone also made weather observations at the Salt Lake City International Airport to the FAA during his 12-year stay in the city.
In addition, Stone has also participated in pinball where he won the Open Pinball World Championship in Banning, California, in January of 2020. He also won the North American championship in 2017 and was able to compete in the world championship in Denmark for the US. During his free time, he enjoys bowling and has bowled in many leagues and tournaments. He also loves cycling in the sunny Florida weather with most of his time spent at the shore.
