Erin Moran Biography

Erin Moran is an American meteorologist who is working at CBS11. She joined the CBS11 weather team in December 2019. Previously, she worked at KXXV-TV in Waco, Texas where she served as the morning meteorologist.

In 2004, she joined Brockton High School where she graduated proudly in 2008. Later she joined Westfield State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and media studies in 2012. In addition, she studied at Mississippi State University where she received a certificate in meteorology in 2017.

Moran has been working at CBS11 since December 2019 as a meteorologist. She began producing as an intern, working as a reporter, and covering news on television stations in Springfield, Massachusetts. Erin loved the newsroom’s quick pace, but after covering several major weather events she found that she was gravitating to the weather side of stuff. She met her eventual mentor in Charlotte, and he inspired her to return to meteorology school.

While in Texas, Erin has covered everything from tornadoes, hail, and floods, to ice storms, severe heat events, and everything in between. She considers it a great privilege to be welcomed into your home each morning and evening, and she knows it comes with an enormous responsibility to keep you and your family safe, particularly when severe weather is expected.

Erin got a full-time job as a weekend morning forecaster at WBTW-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, while also taking Mississippi State University’s meteorology courses online. She spread across intense thunderstorms and tropics on Myrtle Beach, like Matthew Hurricane, in 2016, when the storm reached its last landing just south of Myrtle Beach, near McClellanville, South Carolina.
