Erin Simonek is an American journalist working for WFMJ as a co-anchor of 21 News at 11 p.m. every weeknight since January 2021. In addition, she serves the station as a nightside multimedia journalist. She joined the station in May 2020 as a multimedia journalist.

Simonek joined Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication in 2016 when she finished her high school education at North Royalton High School. In May 2020, she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and a Public Relations minor.
Simonek participated in the school’s TV station, TV2, as an anchor, reporter, weather anchor, producer, and digital content producer. She later became the news director of TV2 during her senior year. In this role, she managed 200+ student journalists.
During her junior and senior years of college, she worked for Cleveland 19 News as an assignment editor, digital content producer, and investigative intern. After graduating college, she won the Carol Costello Award for Excellence in Journalism while serving TV2.
