Evan Noorani is an American journalist who serves on the CBS News 8 team since September of 2020 as a morning and mid-day reporter and weather anchor. After three years at KREM 2 in Spokane, Washington, where he gained experience forecasting severe weather and developed a passion for storytelling, he moved to San Diego.

Evan is a native of Southern California, having grown up in Ventura County and graduated from Chapman University with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and a double major in Political Science. He’s currently studying at Mississippi State University to become a television meteorologist. Evan worked as a reporter for Hawthorne Community Television and an intern at FOX 11 Los Angeles and PBS SoCal before moving to San Diego.
He’s had a passion for elevating voices and ideas that are all too frequently ignored since he was a child. He is a staunch belief that community change can be achieved through sharing perspectives, educating people, and doing it with optimism and thankfulness.
Evan enjoys preparing new meals, binge-watching the latest TV episodes, reading on the beach, and checking out new places when he is not at work. Evan’s reports and forecasts may be seen on CBS 8 from 4:30 to 7 a.m. and The CW San Diego from 7 to 9 a.m., as well as CBS 8 from 11 to 12:30 p.m.
