Eyal Podell Biography

Eyal Podell is an Israeli-American actor who is best known for his role as Professor Adrian Korbel on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. He played the role of Dr. Evram Mintz on the ABC sci-fi drama series Defying Gravity. He also played Namir Eschel in NCIS.

Podell attended Byram Hills High School in Armonk with fellow actors David Harbour and Sean Maher. He then graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Since arriving in Los Angeles, Podell has worked consistently in both film and television. His big-screen debut came playing Al Pacino’s son in The Insider. Podell was trained as a classical actor at the National Theater Institute, part of the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.

Most recently, he has been recurring on NCIS: New Orleans as Dr. Samuel Wilkns. In addition to his acting talents, Eyal is also an emerging writer. With co-writer Jonathon E. Stewart, Eyal penned a biopic about Theodor Geisel, AKA Dr. Seuss, that landed atop the 2012 Hollywood Blacklist.
