The governor honored her with the North Carolina State Human Relations Achievement Award. Also, she won the YWCA Woman of the Year in Achievement Award.

Even though Weller has won many awards, her greatest joy is being involved with the community. Her two passions, Fran’s Fans and Weller’s Wheels, have kept the elderly cool each summer by collecting fan donations and made numerous Christmases brighter for local children through her bike collection drive.

Weller serves as the public relations chair for the Willie Stargell Celebrity Invitational, which annually raises funds for local people living with kidney disease. She also leads WECT’s Advisory Board and is on the board of the Community Boys & Girls Club and the Willie Stargell Foundation.
