Frank Thorp is an American producer and reporter working as the Producer and Off-Air Reporter, Senate at NBC News based in Washington, District of Columbia, United States. He joined NBC News for the first time in May 2004.

From 2002 to 2007, Thorp studied at West Virginia University. During this time, in 2005, he had the chance to study psychology and international studies at Aalborg University in Denmark. In 2007, he studied international relations and urban development at Stellenbosch University in South Africa.

Thorp serves as a producer and off-air reporter in the senate for NBC News. Prior to this role, he served as a producer and off-air reporter in the House of Representatives. It was in 2004, when he interned for The Today Show, that he first worked at NBC News. He became an apprentice at NBC4 in Washington, D.C. in 2006. From 2005 to 2007, Thorp was a reporter for the campus radio station, WWVU. When he was studying there, he also reported from South Africa. He also worked as a researcher in South Africa while Today was publishing.

In 2007, he came to the U.S. capital, where he was a desk assistant for a year at NBC News and a researcher the next year. At CBS News, where he was an associate producer on The Early Show for all of 2009, Thorp started out as a producer. In 2010, he returned to NBC News and broadcast from Haiti. For a decade now, Thorp has been a producer at NBC News. He also provided the House of Representatives coverage of the network. He also actually serves as an off-air reporter on developments in the Senate.
