Gasia Mikaelian Biography
Gasia Mikaelian is an Armenian-American News Anchor working for KTVU as a morning news anchor. She has been working for the station since 2005. Mikaelian anchors news from 7-10 am then again at noon.
Gasia Mikaelian Education
Mikaelian loved reading, writing, and talking. She used to write for her school’s newspaper and was also voted as the most talkative among her seniors. After high school, Gasia started at Las Positas Junior College and took every English course they had and that is when she discovered her love for journalism. Two years later she transferred from a junior college to San Diego State University. She packed up everything I owned in my 1994 Honda Civic hatchback and drove down to San Diego.

Mikaelian is an anchor at KTVU. She landed her first job in Yuma, Arizona. Gasia drove out to Yuma with her resume so the news director would have a face to go with the name on the tape. In August of 1997, she started at KSWT and she reported there for a year.
While at KSWT she shared an apartment with another reporter at the station, and they were both too cheap to turn on the air conditioning unless it was over 95 degrees. Gasia later got a job at WAFF in Huntsville, Alabama where she served as a reporter for two years. She then saw a job listing for a new FOX affiliate in San Diego and she quickly sent her resume tape. A short while later the news director at XETV left her a voicemail saying he liked her work and she could not help screaming and jumping for joy. After a few years there Gasia got another job opportunity at KPRC in Houston then finally she bought a one-way airplane ticket home(Bay Area).

Mikaelian was thrilled to be part of the KTVU team, she first started working as a reporter. She was ecstatic to meet some of the anchors and reporters that she grew up watching. One of the highlights of working there was covering the Giants in the World Series.
She is serving as a morning news anchor at KTVU. When she is not working she loves hanging out with friends and family, cooking, Picnics at Sycamore Grove, seeing the Granada High School marching band, and watching the pig races at the Alameda County Fair.
