Gerron Jordan Biography

Gerron Jordan is an American anchor and reporter working for WISN-TV as a weekday morning anchor from 4:30 to 7 a.m. He joined WISN in November 2021, after previously working at Fox 44.

He is an award-winning journalist and for the last ten years, he has been telling stories across Midwest and the south. Prior to joining WISN 12, he worked for 2 years in Louisiana, and not long ago, he worked at WVLA/WGMB in Baton Rouge as a morning anchor for 4 years. He launched the station’s Candid Conversations series while reporting on issues such as environmental racism, mass incarceration, and disproportionate impact on communities of color. In 2021, he was honored with a regional EMMY nomination for his reporting on cancer alley.

In addition, he also worked at KTVI/KPLR, the Fox and CW affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri where he served as a general assignment reporter. While he was in St. Louis, he covered the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton in 2016. Jordan also extensively covered the search for missing Berkeley woman Monica Sykes in addition to being the first reporter on the scene after her remains were found.

Furthermore, he traveled to Chicago his home town where he reported on the historic 2016 World Series title for the Cubs. After a St. Louis resident was hospitalized after a drunk driver plowed through Mardi Gras crowds in 2017, he exclusively reported live from the scene in New Orleans.

Prior to working in St. Louis, he worked at the stations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Lake Charles. Over the years, he has covered floods, ice storms, hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, and everything in between. Jordan’s works have received recognition from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences- Suncoast Region,  Louisiana Associated Press, and the National Association of Black Journalists. Furthermore, his work has been honored with distinguished accolades such as first-place awards in breaking news and a story of the year award for an investigation that led to drunk driving charges against a federal judge.

Jordan is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists. He is also an alum of Howard University in Washington, D.C where he earned honors with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. During his leisure time, he enjoys singing karaoke, finding the best place to brunch, cheering on the New Orleans Saints, and being an active volunteer with several community organizations.
