Allen entered into KTVI-TV in the year 1999 as a general assignment reporter. In November 2000, she transitioned to the station’s investigative team and anchored the Saturday and Sunday editions of the CBS 11 News at 5 pm and 9 pm weekdays, and 12 pm, 3 pm, and 6 pm on weekends. Later in June 2007, she transitioned into being a Morning Anchor of CBS11 News 4:30-7:00 am and fill-in anchor of CBS 11 News at 4, 5, 6, and 10 PM.

Before coming to CBS 11, Ginger held the position of general assignment reporter and a fill-in anchor at WLWT-TV station in Cincinnati and was an NBC News Channel correspondent traveling around the country for NBC affiliates in big story events.
