Ginger Gadsden is a prominent American anchor and reporter working for WMKM as a news anchor. She joined the station on June 15, 2014. Currently, she co-anchors the 4 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7 pm newscast Central Florida’s only 7 pm newscast. Also, she has worked in Dallas and Washington, DC. but Florida is the state where she has spent most of her career.
In her career, she has covered a variety of big stories including some in Florida sports. She traveled to Arizona in 2001 to cover the Florida Gators when they won the BCS Championship and when the Tampa Bay Rays were in the World Series, she was live at Tropicana Field for each home game. Moreover, she anchored live coverage of Super Bowl XLIII at Raymond James Stadium.

Her career began shortly after her college theatre professor told her she had a unique presence that captured the attention of other students in the classroom. The professor advised her to pursue a career in journalism and helped her secure an internship at WIS the local NBC television station in Columbia, South Carolina.
Prior to working at WKMG, she worked as a news anchor/reporter for Gannett Company Inc. from February 2006 to July 2013. There, she was responsible for anchoring “10 News This Morning”, “10 News at 9”, and “10 News at Noon” for WTPS-TV (CBS)|10 News. Also, she worked closely with co-anchor, producers, and directors to present comprehensive newscasts with stories relevant to the morning audience. She also worked for USA TODAY as a News Anchor/Correspondent from February 2001 to January 2006. There, she covered national news stories for 22 Gannett television stations and worked closely with newspaper correspondents to produce television stories for air and usatoday.com.
Also, she anchored daily morning news segments for affiliates (ie, WXIA, KPNX, WTSP, KUSA, WKYC, KXTV, and KSDK). From April 1998 to September 200, she worked as a news anchor for Gaylord Entertainment Inc. + CBS Inc. Her primary responsibility there was to anchor the station’s 5 am and 6 am newscasts, reported stories on a daily basis, and served as the station’s representative for a variety of community events. Ginger was a News anchor/reporter for Tribune Company from March 1996 to April 1998. There, she anchored WXIN-TV (FOX)| FOX 59 10 pm newscast, reporting on a regular basis day-of-air stories for the evening newscast. Also, she contributed to the Sunday night sports show (59 Overtime).
