Dutra serves at ABC 7 Chicago in Illinois as a weekend morning meteorologist. He also fills in as a meteorologist for ABC News. When he was joining ABC 7, Jennifer Graves (the station’s Vice President of News) made a comment that Dutra’s dynamic personality and his skills in weather forecasting made him a perfect fit for the weather crew. One thing Dutra loves about his job is predicting winter storms which also makes him a perfect fit for forecasting weather in Chicago.

Before joining ABC 7, he worked for KDVR – FOX31 Denver in Colorado as a Weekday Morning Meteorologist for nearly half a decade (November 2014 – September 2019). There he reported on the crazy weather in Colorado, ranging from severe summer storms and heavy winter snow – 4 seasons in a single day sometimes!

Before Dutra joined KDVR, he served at KWQC TV-6 News in Davenport, Iowa as a Morning Meteorologist for 5 and a half years (June 2009 – November 2014). Dutra has also worked for WABI-TV 5 in Bangor, Maine as a Meteorologist for 2 years and 2 months (May 2007 – June 2009). There he reported mostly on marine weather and Nor’easters.

NWA – the National Weather Association has honored Dutra with their Seal of Approval. When coming to his education, Dutra is a proud graduate of Lyndon State College in Vermont, where he joined in 2003 and graduated in the year 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology.

In the year 2022, Dutra got pleasantly surprised after discovering the screen he used each and every day in his forecasts displaying the local weather was indeed an interactive touch-screen. It was live on-air during a Thursday morning broadcast, when he accidentally touched the screen when showing the forecasted rain on his map o the screen. He suprisingly said ‘Oh, I moved the map! I can do that?’
