Greg Fields Biography

Greg Fields is an American meteorologist who is working at WFAA in Dallas, Texas. He serves as the weekday meteorologist on Daybreak News from 5 to 7 a.m., News at 9/Good Morning Texas, and Midday at 12 p.m. In addition, he joined the WFAA team in April 1998 as a weekend evening meteorologist. 

Greg Fields Career

Lexington Kentucky is his native home and this is where he began his Broadcast Meteorology in 1989. Later on, he relocated to Tyler Texas, Tampa Florida, and Kansas City, Missouri. When he joined the WFAA team, he served as a weekend evening meteorologist, and in April 2001, he moved to the Daybreak newscast.

During the weekends, he enjoys taking long naps and also enjoys sports, and has been a Dallas Cowboys fan since childhood. Greg is a BIG University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan. In addition, he is a foodie and enjoys dining in all restaurants around the D/FW area. Moreover, he also enjoys traveling with his family during the summer.

Fields studied at Western Kentucky University where he graduated with a degree in Physical Geography/Meteorology. He has also earned the American Meteorological Society’s (AMS Seal of Approval.) He secured his first job as a studio camera operator as he was really bad at it. Since he has a meteorology background while he was in college, he moved to the News Department as a Weather Producer.
