Greg Loyd is an American Anchor working for WGXA and ABC 16 News as an executive producer and weeknight anchor at 5 pm. Previously, he served as a morning & midday producer and anchor at WRBL-TV in Columbus.

Loyd attended Florida State University in 1996 where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Media Communication and a minor in Journalism in 1997. After that, he enrolled at Valdosta State University in 2003 where he earned a Master’s degree in English in 2005.

Loyd works as an executive producer and weeknight anchor at 5 pm on WGXA News in Macon, Georgia. He also appears as an evening anchor at 6 pm and 11 pm on ABC 16. Prior to joining WGXA News in January 2021, Greg worked for WRBL-TV as a morning & midday producer and anchor. He served the station for four years and nine months from May 2016 to January 2021.
Greg previously served as an anchor, reporter, and producer at WFXL, the Fox 31 affiliate in Albany, Georgia. He also co-anchored a newscast at 6:30 pm alongside Mercer Merrill Van Schoor from November 1998 to October 2000. In addition to this, he also worked as a weeknight anchor. Loyd started his journalism career at WALB-TV as a bureau chief from June 1997 to May 1998.
Apart from working as a journalist, Greg served as an associate professor at Tallahassee Community College. There, he taught ENC 1102 and 1101 from August 2007 to May 2016. Earlier, he worked for Waycross College as an instructor from August 2005 to May 2007. Before working at Waycross College, Loyd served as an instructor at Bainbridge College from June 2002 to July 2005.
