Gwyn Bevel Biography

Gwyn Bevel is an American anchor/reporter working for KSN as a morning co-anchor. She joined the KSN news team in November 2005.

Bevel had always dreamt of being a journalist ever since she was a child and she is currently living her dream. She was named one of the 25 Most Distinguished Seniors at Southern Illinois University when she graduated. While she was studying at Southern Illinois University, she also worked at WSIU TV. Gwyn has also studied at the University of Illinois at Springfield, where she earned a master’s degree in public affairs reporting. In addition, while working for WICS TV 20 in the state capital, she covered the Illinois legislature.

Furthermore, she worked at KFDX/KJTL in Wichita Falls, Texas for about 13 years before joining the KSN team and while she was there, she served as the evening anchor and assistant news director. While she was in Wichita Falls, Texas, she enjoyed teaching, coaching, and mentoring the next generation of journalists there. While serving as a journalist, she believes that one has to be passionate about their work and most importantly committed to helping others.

In addition, she has taken her career to incredible heights, including a ride in a T-38 jet from Sheppard Air Force Base and incredible speeds as a passenger in a factory stock race car, despite her specialties in city and state government. She’s also helped a nonprofit by rappelling down the side of a skyscraper. Gwyn has a strong desire to help others and is always eager to participate in charity and community work.
