Hal Steinbrenner is an American businessman who is the principal owner, managing general partner, and co-chairman of the New York Yankees. Steinbrenner and his brother, Hank Steinbrenner, inherited the team from their father, George Steinbrenner, who died in 2010.

He attended Culver Military Academy and went on to graduate from Williams College in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Hal then earned a Master of Business Administration at the University of Florida in 1994. Steinbrenner the principal owner of the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball. Starting in 2007, his father gradually ceded day-to-day control of the Yankees to Hal and Hank as his health worsened.
